At the division of Neurogeriatrics we investigate neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s Disease from different perspectives, emphasizing the integration of basic neuroscience research with clinical, health economics and outcomes research. The Health Economic Research Group develops and applies tools and methods to estimate the value of medical innovations, for example new diagnostic tests, prevention strategies, digital solutions and disease-modifying drug treatments. Our research helps determine how these innovations are best used to improve health and provide value for patients, caregivers and society as a whole. We are a multidisciplinary team that collaborates extensively with research groups within Karolinska Institutet as well as other universities and organizations nationally and internationally.

Your mission

We are looking for a Research Coordinator who will not only support the research team but also take a leading role in coordinating and driving complex projects forward. This is a new position, offering an exciting opportunity to shape the role and grow together with the group. As the research coordinator you will support the research team in a wide range of tasks relating to the coordination and administration of research projects. The work is varying and independent.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the main point of contact and liaison between research groups, collaborators, funders, and stakeholders,
  • Lead coordination efforts for national and international projects involving academia, clinical centers, private sector companies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Initiate, plan, and establish new collaborative projects together with researchers in the group
  • Maintain strong relationships with all involved parties and foster effective communication.
  • Optimize and streamline processes for efficient project execution.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and evaluation of project activities at research group level
  • Plan and organize consortium meetings and other external and internal meetings 

Your profile

Requirements

  • Academic Background: Relevant academic degree for research coordination and project management.
  • Project Coordination Experience: Proven experience in administration and coordination of externally funded research projects (minimum 10 years), including project management responsibilities.
  • Funding & Reporting Expertise: Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and fulfilling reporting obligations for EU-funded research projects (minimum 10 years) and other international funding agencies (such as NIH).
  • Technical Skills: Strong IT proficiency, including advanced use of Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; fluent in Swedish and English with advanced writing skills in both languages.
  • Personal Attributes: Reliable, proactive, and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively in a team. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
