At the Division of Radiology, part of the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology, we focus on digital medical devices, their development, implementation and value in use. We evaluate the effects of these medical devices in the healthcare flow before implementation to identify ways to promote sustainability in the change processes that their use may entail. As of now we are involved in two projects targeting different digital medical device solutions.
We are currently seeking a research assistant for a fixed-term position of one year.
Projects Background
Heart failure affects 1-3% of individuals in developed nations, with many cases undiagnosed. The FAITHFUL project aims to improve diagnosis rates by utilizing Idoven's AI solution, Willem, to interpret ECG data at the primary care level, thereby streamlining the diagnostic process for heart failure.
In Europe, 61 million people live with diabetes, and one in four individuals over 65 is affected by this condition. The rising prevalence of diabetes poses a significant challenge to the sustainability of healthcare systems, with annual costs reaching at least €72 billion. VBHC models, like SMARTDIABETES, seek to balance efficiency and quality in patient care, addressing these challenges effectively.
As a research assistant, you will contribute in analyzing the value-related data associated to the adoption of the novel digital devices in both projects. Value is multidimensional and requires methodologies specifically useful for longitudinal analysis like process mining to perform such analysis.
