Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher in neuroepidemiology to join our dynamic, collaborative, and inclusive team. The successful candidate will contribute to the generation of rigorous evidence on risk factors and prognostic indicators to inform prevention, early detection, and management strategies for aging-related neurological conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases.

Your mission

The overarching aim of this position is to expand the evidence base on the heterogeneity of aging-related neurological conditions and their complex interplay with comorbidities, to provide new perspectives for prevention, early detection, and management.

This research program leverages data from Nordic registers, cohorts, and biobanks and applies advanced epidemiological and statistical methods. Particular emphasis is placed on longitudinal analyses to characterize disease progression and heterogeneity, and on causal-inference approaches to establish credible relationships among risk factors, comorbidities, and neurological outcomes.

As a postdoctoral researcher on our team, you will lead projects from conceptualization through data processing, statistical analyses, and the preparation of manuscripts and grant applications, in collaboration with the principal investigator and interdisciplinary partners. You will also contribute to supervision of junior team members and participate in educational activities within the research environment.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral researcher with a genuine interest in aging and neurological disorders, as well as a strong commitment to advancing knowledge in this field. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in epidemiological study design and a solid understanding of advanced analytic methodologies, particularly longitudinal analyses and causal inference.

Expertise in working with large-scale register-, cohort- and biobank- data and proficiency in statistical programming (R, SAS, or Stata) for data management and analysis is essential. You should be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of conducting high-quality research from conception to publication. A strong track record of independent research, scientific writing, and publications in peer-reviewed journals is required.

We value a collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to engage productively with an interdisciplinary research team to drive impactful discoveries in aging-related neurological conditions.
