The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC has about 40 research groups and our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.

This position will be based in the Karlsson Hedestam group, but will involve project coordination across multiple labs at Karolinska Institutet, as well as with some national and international collaborators.

Your mission

This position is for the 6 month "planning phase" of a multi-site grant proposal. Responsibilities include:

  • Drive the 6-month planning phase: build and manage the timeline, milestones, deliverables, and evolving scope across sites.
  • Orchestrate collaboration: facilitate cross-site/cross-disciplinary communication, onboard new partners, negotiate roles, and ensure conceptual alignment.
  • Run knowledge-building activities: plan hybrid workshops, seminars, and expert panels and capture outputs for proposal use.
  • Lead analysis and curriculum scoping: conduct literature and landscape reviews and draft preliminary goals/syllabus for a Doctoral School.
  • Produce the proposal and capstone deliverables: coordinate drafting/formatting/submission and author the final planning-phase report.

Your profile

Requirements for the postion

  • A PhD with a topic related to structure-based vaccine design.
  • An educational background in statistical science.
  • A talent for high quality academic writing in English.
  • Post-educational experience in a coordination or management role.
  • Post-educational experience working in AI or an AI-adjacent field (eg. data science).
  • A desire to coordinate research and planning across a number of different teams working in different fields on a common project.
