Elisabet Stener-Victorin's research group combine in vivo clinical and experimental research with in vitro studies together with single-cell sequencing of tissue collected from women with and without polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) aiming to define molecular mechanisms underlying PCOS and associated comorbidities including type 2 diabetes, reduced fertility, and miscarriage.

Your mission

The applicant is expected to lead adipose tissue in vitro cell culture work aiming at understanding molecular dysfunction in adipose tissue of women with PCOS. The applicant will also design functional assays to validate molecular targets identified in single-nuclei RNA-seq analyses.

Your profile

We are looking for a passionate, highly motivated researcher with a Master's degree in molecular biology or related area. The applicant is expected to have experience in cell culture work with primary human adipocytes including immunohistochemistry, lipolysis and mitochondria characterization with Seahorse

Priority will be given to the applicant with a proven ability to work independently. The person should be a positive team player as researchers rely on that you support each other in the lab. Moreover, good communication skills and good proficiency in spoken and written English are necessary and Swedish is a strength.
