The Department of Global Public Health is a multidisciplinary department with the aim to advance knowledge about challenges and opportunities for public health in a local, national, and global setting. Many researchers at the department are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision makers at regional, national, and international levels. The department is responsible for three international master’s programs and the researchers are actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The department has 12 research groups, around 120 PhD students and about 140 employees.
The GH-Pharma research group within the Department of Global Public Health conducts a range of clinical and translational research projects in global health pharmacology and therapeutics. Our focus is to optimize treatment and prevention strategies for both communicable and non-communicable diseases, with a particular emphasis on major public health challenges in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), including HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
We are recruiting a research assistant to play a key role in supporting and advancing our ongoing and future projects by coordinating and writing research applications in global health. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work at the intersection of clinical research, global health policy and pharmacological sciences, contributing to impactful studies that directly influence treatment and prevention strategies worldwide. This is a full-time position for 1 year.
Key responsibility:
Conduct comprehensive literature reviews, identify research gaps, and contribute to the preparation of global health grant proposals and applications. Support the design, protocol development and implementation of clinical and translational research studies. Manage and analyze data, ensuring integrity and high-quality standards. Participate in the day-to-day operations of the research group, including laboratory activities, managing research materials and ensuring proper storage and handling of biological samples and data. Support and collaborate with PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and international partners.
