Our laboratory is part of the Division of Surgery and Oncology, which belongs to the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology at Karolinska Institutet. We focus on basic pancreatic cancer research. We use 3D spheroid culture to investigate tumor stroma crosstalk aiming at finding ways to overcome therapy resistance. We are now looking for a laboratory assistant at 50% employment for a period of four months.

Your mission

As a laboratory assistant, you will be working on one of our research projects. The project includes the test of several new drugs alone and in combination with commonly used chemotherapeutics on several pancreatic cancer/stroma cell lines grown in 3D using the Incucyte analyzer. The effect of positive hits will be further analysed by transcriptomics and metabolomics as well as in silico drug-drug interactions/synergism/toxicity.

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a laboratory assistant, you must be a trained pharmacologist. You should also have:

  • Experience in 3D cell culture
  • Experience in oncology drug testing, transcriptomic / metabolomics analyses
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken

Further merits include:

  • Experience in computational analyses like molecular docking and small molecular interaction analyses is required as well
