We are seeking a research assistant for a project that uses advanced measurement methods to study brain function using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience for a future career in research within the exciting intersection of psychology, psychiatry, and neuroscience.
As a research assistant, you will interact with participants (a population experiencing common psychiatric conditions such as anxiety, depression, and sleep difficulties) in an ongoing research study. Your role will also include recruiting healthy control participants, and under supervision, conducting interviews with interested participants. Over time, there may be opportunities to expand your role and develop skills in data collection, as well as independently managing and analysing data.
We are looking for someone who is thorough, ambitious, and curious about research. It is essential that you have basic skills in clinical psychology. It is considered a strong merit if you are a student in the later stages of the psychology program, and if you have experience conducting structured clinical interviews (e.g., MINI) as well as psychological testing of cognition. It is an advantage if you can commit to a longer involvement in the study. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is required.
Temporary employment means that you may be called upon for occasional, short-term periods of employment. Being made available in this way means that a new employment relationship begins on each specific occasion you are called upon to work. You have the right to refuse such an offer.
