Research assistant in Stem Cell research

A research assistant position is available in the lab of Pekka Katajisto at the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Karolinska Institutet. The Department of Cell and Molecular Biology (CMB) is a department with a strong focus on basic science. CMB conducts research and education in cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, stem cell biology, cancer and infection biology. CMB is located in Biomedicum, a new interdisciplinary research center designed to concentrate much of the experimental research conducted at Karolinska Institutet Campus Solna under one roof to promote collaboration.

Your mission

We are seeking an enthusiastic person who will work on a project where by using in vitro systems, we study stem cell intrinsic mechanisms of tissue renewal and homeostasis. The employment includes experimental laboratory work, data processing, data analysis and report writing.

The position is a fixed-term employment (SÄVA) up to 12 months. 

Your profile

Applicants with a Masters degree, and experience in one or more of the following fields are encouraged to apply:

• Cell culture (cell lines and 3D culture).
• Confocal microscopy and image analysis (Fiji).
• Bioinformatic experience such as Python, R, Bash and/or Java.
• English proficiency is a must.
