The Department of Global Public Health is a multidisciplinary department with the aim to advance knowledge about challenges and opportunities for public health in a local, national, and global setting. Many researchers at the department are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision makers at regional, national, and international levels. The department is responsible for three international master’s programs and the researchers are actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The department has 12 research groups, about 115 PhD students and about 140 employees.

This position is placed within the research group Global Child Health and the Sustainable Development Goals team. Within our research group you will find an exciting opportunity to work with colleagues across multiple disciplines and geographies. Your mission

We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to take the role as a Research Assistant in the Child Health and SDGs group, with the main purpose to support the conceptualization and writing of research grant applications. We anticipate the candidate to support work on 5 different grant applications in the topic areas of paediatric respiratory infections, TB, emergency and critical care, case management, and adolescent mental health. The candidate will also be expected to be an active member of the research group, and may be asked to collaborate on related tasks.

The position will be time limited and with an extent of 100% (full time).

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with excellent scientific communication skills, specifically academic writing, and an interest in global child health. The candidate will need to work with several tasks, and therefore the candidate must be organized, structured and able to manage several tasks at the same time. 

The candidate must have the following essential qualifications:

  • A master’s degree in a field relevant to global child health (e.g. global health, public health, social science)
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Work experience on grant writing.

Desirable qualifications includes:

  • Demonstrated experience in academic writing.
  • Work experience in global child health.
  • Multi-disciplinary working and cross-cultural communication.

The applicants must have legal right and permission to work in the EU.
