The Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) conducts research and education in the field of neuroscience from the molecular level to the society level. The Division of Eye and Vision within CNS focuses on ophthalmology, optometry and basic visual biology. The Pete Williams Research group (Glaucoma) within the Division of Eye and Vision seeks to recruit a research assistant to contribute to research on ocular neurodegeneration. The group is uniquely placed for translational research thanks to its location within St. Erik Eye Hospital adjacent to the Solna research campus.
As a research assistant you will assist in research with a focus on gene therapy. The group seeks to strengthen its focus on novel treatment strategies focusing on neuroprotection and neuroregeneration.

We are looking for an ambitious research assistant with enthusiasm towards bettering human health through basic and translatable neurobiology. The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree with a strong background in medical sciences in addition to relevant wet-lab experience. Previous experience with mouse models of ocular disease, gene therapy work, microscopy, and neuronal cell culture are substantial merits. The candidate should demonstrate enthusiasm toward basic and translational research and aim to contribute to our research programs focusing on gene therapy development. Written and spoken English is a requirement. We place high value on personal fit.
