This position will be part of Prof. Claudia Hanson’s IMPAQT research group at the Department of Global Public Health and will be under the supervision of Dr. Sunjuri Sun. Within our research group you will find a unique opportunity to work closely together with cutting edge researchers in the intersection between global public health and maternal health. The Department of Global Public Health is a multidisciplinary department with the aim to advance knowledge about challenges and opportunities for public health in a local, national, and global setting. Many researchers at the department are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision makers at regional, national, and international levels. The department is responsible for three international master’s programs and the researchers are actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The department has 12 research groups, about 115 PhD students and about 140 employees.

Your mission

The research assistant will assist in grant proposal writing in the field of non-communicable diseases and maternal health. Responsibilities will include writing up literature reviews, manuscript drafting and potentially assisting with conducting systematic reviews. The position is full-time and with a duration of 5 months, with the possibility of extension.

Your profile

The candidate must have:

  • A Masters degree in global health, public health sciences, medicine or similar.
  • Experience in research in global maternal health and epidemiology.
  • Experience in R or Stata and experience in working with databases.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Personal characteristics that we are looking for is a collaborative mindset. You enjoy working in a team and contribute to a good social atmosphere in the group. It is meritorious to have experience of research in low- or middle-income settings.
