Applications are welcome for a temporary position (maximum 12 months) as a research assistant in the Ulla Stenius research group (Institute of Environmental Medicine) at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. The research focuses on silica particle-induced DNA damage and sex differences in chemical carcinogenesis.
The candidate will perform advanced cell culture with human-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and investigate the DNA damage response to different carcinogens. The role of androgen receptor and heat shock proteins in sensitivity to carcinogens in stem cells will be investigated. The candidate will also analyze the translocation of androgen receptor and activity of DNA repair proteins by e.g. using immunocytochemistry.
We are looking for someone who has a background in cell biology and chemical toxicology. You should have solid previous experience in culturing iPSCs cells and methods to investigate DNA damage. It will be a priority if you have experimental experience in the androgen receptor signaling pathway.
