The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions in which both research and teaching are conducted. The department is involved in advanced research in both basic and applied research. All divisions operate in close contact with clinics at Karolinska University Hospital. The division of Clinical Microbiology pursues innovative multidisciplinary research in infectious diseases and contributes translational knowledge to the development of novel diagnostics and therapeutic interventions.

Annika Karlsson's research group at the Division of Clinical Microbiology is currently looking for a motivated research associate to study antiviral T cell immunity in relation to human age and health.

The employment is fixed-term temporary for 4 months (full-time).

Your mission

We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable research associate in antiviral T cell immunity to work with us in research projects related to human health. The research will involve laboratory work, advanced data analysis, and compilation and presentation of results.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is motivated and who has basic knowledge in biomedicine, immunology, and virology.

To be considered for the position, you must also have:

  • Completed 4 years of university studies in biology or biomedicine.
  • Experience from studies of virus-specific T cell immunity using flow cytometry and spectral flow analysis.
  • Experience from advanced data analysis from flow cytometry. This includes handling of Flow Cytometry standards (FCS) using GraphPad Prism and FlowJo, clustering analysis, UMAP for dimensional reduction, and PCA for multivariate analysis. The advanced data analysis requires knowledge of R.
  • Experience from working with human cell samples in biosafety level 2.
  • The ability to understand and communicate freely in English to work independently.
