We are looking for a highly motivated research assistant to join the Molecular Pharmacology of GPCRs team, led by Dr. Paweł Kozielewicz within the research group of Prof. Gunnar Schulte.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for one year, based at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, a dynamic and international environment known for its collaborative research culture.

Our team focuses on understanding the mechanisms of activation and signal initiation of orphan G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). The insights gained from this research aim to provide a foundation for the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Your mission

We are seeking a curious and motivated individual with a genuine interest in research and solid hands-on laboratory experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining mammalian cell cultures
  • Transfection and overexpression of receptor-encoding plasmid DNA including in hard-to-transfect cells
  • Performing immunoblotting (Western blot)
  • Executing microplate-based assays, including ligand stimulation experiments 

Your profile

You must have substantial, documented experience in all four of the key methodological areas listed above. We are looking for candidates who have a Master's degree. Prior experience in GPCR pharmacology is a strong merit. Additional skills in bioinformatics or experience with sequencing data analysis are also considered valuable assets.
