The main goal of the research at the Unit of Integrative Epidemiology at The Institute of Environmental Medicine is to improve the understanding of the causes and consequences of ill health and disease, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, and Covid 19. We strive for multidisciplinary approaches in epidemiologic research and integrate different scientific tools when addressing specific research questions. The Unit seeks an enthusiastic research assistant. The position is temporary for 12 months.

Your mission

The successful candidate will support and participate in several research projects. The main tasks are data management and cleaning of the collected data, statistical analysis, updating existing databases, documenting data management steps and ensuring databases in our research group have excellent data quality. Other tasks include administrative and organisational assignments. We are looking for someone who feels comfortable in a supporting role, prefereal with a Master degree in biomedical science. The ability to work in a highly interdisciplinary and international environment, and to engage in continuous professional development is a must.

Your profile

The successful applicant is expected to have:

  • Formal training in Biomedical Science, including laboratory experience
  • Experience in epidemiology and/or public health
  • Advanced data management and statistical analysis skills using R
  • Interest in working in an international research group
  • Excellence in written and verbal communication in English and basic level Swedish
  • Attention to detail, problem solving ability and social skills are highly valuable
  • Knowledgeable and serious about data protection and GDPR rules
  • Background in neurodegenerative disorders and population-based epidemiological research is desirable
