The Strategic Research Programme in Diabetes (SRP Diabetes) at Karolinska Institutet is offering a fellowship for postdoctoral researchers. The programme supports groundbreaking research in diabetes and its comorbidities—both experimental and clinical.
We are currently recruiting one outstanding postdoctoral research fellow.

Fellows will:
• Conduct cutting-edge research at Karolinska Institutet.
• Participate in a dynamic environment with symposia, lectures, retreats, and more.
• Receive full funding including salary for 2 years.
🕒 Start date: Fall 2025 (flexible)
Dietary Nitrate and non-heme iron in Diabetes
• Design, manage, and conduct the research project.
• Develop new experimental protocols and techniques, in particular EPR-based.
• Develop hypotheses and analyze complex data sets.
• Contribute ideas for future research directions.
• Coordinate project activities with the Principal Investigator.
• Publish in international peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Support and advise team members on scientific techniques.
Essential:
• PhD in a medical/biological discipline (to be completed by the summer of 2025).
• Strong academic CV with publications and conference presentations.
• Ability to work independently and in teams to manage academic activities.
• Excellent skills in EPR spectroscopy.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English.
• High attention to detail and enthusiasm for research.
Additional Advantage:
• PhD completed within the last 3 years (exceptions may apply).
• A strong background in biochemistry.
