Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

Join the Ziegenhain lab, part of the Division of Medical systems bioengineering (https://ki.se/en/mbb/research-division-of-medical-systems-bioengineering) at the department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics. In our group we are interested in shedding light on central molecular processes in human cells, in particular with regards to the control of transcription and alternative splicing. For this, we develop and employ cutting edge single-cell sequencing and computational approaches.

Your mission

The successful candidate will be working as a research assistant in the group. The main project aims to decode transcriptional programs of T cells performing cancer killing using a novel single cell sequencing approach. This requires a tailored computational analysis strategy to be implemented over the duration of the project. The successful candidate will be an active member of the research group and also collaboratively support other ongoing projects in the laboratory.

Your profile

We are recruiting an enthusiastic research assistant to work on challenges in single cell genomics. The ideal candidate should have obtained a MSc degree in biotechnology, molecular biology or a related field. We are looking for candidates with solid experience in computational analysis. Good proficiency in computational data analysis techniques (eg. shell scripts, R or python) and previous experience in analysis of single cell sequencing data are a requirement. Experience in applying advanced statistical models is especially meriting.

Candidates should also be familiar with common molecular biology techniques and be comfortable with independent work.

All candidates must be able to fluently communicate in written and spoken English as well as demonstrate good team work skills.
