The Department of Microbiology, Tumor and Cell Biology (MTC) at Karolinska Institutet conducts research and teaching within immunology, infection biology, cell biology and cancer. MTC have about 40 research groups and our key words are multidisciplinary, bridging, national and international collaborations.
Arsenian-Henriksson Lab conducts research on the MYC family of oncoproteins and network, to uncover their contribution to tumorigenesis, differentiation, metabolism, and apoptosis in different types of cancer. We are a multicultural and dynamic group with many national and international collaborators.
A highly motivated, skilled, and creative research assistant is needed to join our team. The successful candidate will work within projects that aim to 1) investigate the impact of MYC in metabolic reprogramming to find novel metabolic proteins that could be used as a potential therapeutic target and 2) to identify alternative strategies involving MYC to induce differentiation in the childhood tumor. The research assistant is expected to have previous experience in experimental performance, collection and analysis of data, and representation of the results. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the research team to achieve scientific goals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven person interested in our area of research and ready to explore new paths for cancer therapeutics. The candidate should have a collaborative mindset, work productively in a team, and contribute to a good social and work environment in the laboratory. The applicant should hold a B.S or M.S in Biomedical Science and have a background in cancer biology. Previous experience in research on tumor metabolism, differentiation and/or target identification is an advantage.
