The IMPACT research group – Marie Löf, Department of Medicine, Huddinge, Karolinska Institutet, consists of 30 people and includes both senior and junior researchers, postdoctoral fellows and doctoral students. This research assistant position will be part of Ioannis Ioakeimidis’s research group IMPACT at Karolinska Institutet. The research group has more than ten years of experience in developing digital lifestyle interventions (diet and physical activity) for primary and secondary prevention of obesity and lifestyle-related diseases in children and adults that can be delivered by healthcare. The group also leads several Swedish data collections in large international studies. Professor Löf is also coordinator of the newly started multidisciplinary research center Centre for Nutrition.
You will perform work for two multi-disciplinary projects that integrate the use of digital technologies for family and occupational health. Your duties will include performing data analytics for already collected behavioral datasets, coordination of technical and protocol support for two ongoing studies (one pragmatic and one RCT). You are also expected to participate in the common laboratory tasks in the group. In addition, you will collaborate with researchers in Sweden and internationally and participate in various project meetings, often presenting/discussing the progress of the studies that you participate in.
This position requires a background in nutrition or another relevant field. We are looking for an ambitious and knowledgeable researcher with a strong interest and documented experience in lifestyle analytics using digital data collection methodologies. Experience in occupational health and food environment studies is going to be a merit, similarly to experience with analytics of food content in user submitted pictures (automatic or manual). Past experience with one to one dietary and lifestyle consultations and working with children and/or families is an advantage. You must be meticulous and structured and be able to work independently and together in a team. We place great importance on the ability to collaborate, flexibility to new situations and quick decisions, as well as research team fit.
