Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Strategic Research Program in Diabetes (SRP Diabetes) is based on more than 35 different research groups (>400 researchers) at Karolinska Institutet and Umeå University. The program forms an integrated research environment encompassing both basic and clinical research. A variety of disciplines and expertise are represented, with researchers collaborating towards the goal of improving care and treatment for patients with diabetes.

We are looking for a Programme Manager responsible for coordinating the research program and its various forms of research support initiatives, budget, and meetings.

In addition, your responsibilities will include organizing faculty meetings and seminars, coordinating annual international gatherings, editing SRP Diabetes webpages, and writing the SRP Diabetes newsletter. You will also arrange outreach events for the public and manage SRP Diabetes social media accounts.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field within biomedicine or natural sciences. For this role, fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Experience in scientific communication such as summarizing and compiling scientific texts is considered a merit.

Furthermore, you should have strong skills in communicating science both within and outside of the academic environment. We are seeking a person who has research experience and a good understanding of how universities work. In addition, you should be a highly organized individual with experience in a coordinating role.
