This role is a 6-months contract. 

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Research assistant to join the Rare Diseases Research Group, Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery. The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing research projects focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental diseases using in vitro neural cell models derived from patient and healthy control induced-pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

Your mission

Your Key Responsibilities will include:

Perform human stem cell culture, with a focus on neural stem cell culture and differentiation. Characterize neural stem cells and differentiated neurons. Conduct immunofluorescence staining and imaging; experience with confocal microscopy is an advantage. Perform qPCR and Western blot assays, including data analysis. Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records. Contribute to general lab maintenance and organization. Collaborate effectively with team members in a dynamic research environment. 

Your profile

We are looking for someone with the following Qualifications & Skills:

Proven experience with human neural stem cell culture and differentiation. Strong knowledge of cell culture techniques, differentiation, and characterization methods. Proficiency in immunofluorescence staining, qPCR, and Western blot analysis. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining accurate documentation. Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
