Welcome to apply for a postdoctoral position in the Neuroepidemiology group at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, led by Dr. Katharina Fink and Associate Professor Kyla McKay. Our mission is to advance knowledge of the causes and consequences of neuroinflammatory diseases and improve the quality of life for individuals living with these chronic conditions. Our primary focus is on multiple sclerosis, but we also conduct research into myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody-associated disease (MOGAD), narcolepsy and epilepsy. The group leverages nationwide linked health administrative and disease-specific clinical registries to apply innovative epidemiological methods to characterize chronic neuroinflammatory diseases. Our team consists of an international group of experts, including epidemiologists and clinician scientists, all dedicated to understanding and combating neuroinflammatory diseases.
We are looking for an outstanding and innovative postdoc to join our team. We are data-rich and need a professional-level data scientist to maximize our understanding of these data. The postdoctoral researcher should be passionately committed to furthering knowledge of neuro- and perinatal epidemiology. The main goal of our projects is to investigate factors affecting pregnancy and neonatal outcomes in neuroinflammatory conditions, such as MOGAD, NMOSD, MS and narcolepsy and monitoring the impact of treatments and identify risk factors affecting disease onset and progression. We will benefit from our national health and administrative registries.
The successfull candidate will play a key role in these new projects as well as facilitating our new case-control study to identify risk factors for neurological diseases and also conduct research on registry data. Our team has a strong track record of promoting early career researchers. The position is for two years with the possibility of extension.
