Do you want to contribute to better care, support and well-being for people with autism and ADHD?

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow with a passion for conducting research that aims to contribute to the quality of life and well-being of individuals diagnosed with autism and ADHD. We have been conducting research on the WHO International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) for 15 years with the aim of optimally adapting the classification to assess strengths, challenges, and positive and negative environmental influences in these conditions and promoting its implementation.

KIND research center and research team

At KIND we conduct research, education and development in the field of neurodevelopmental conditions, i.e. autism, ADHD, Tourette syndrome, language disorder, dyslexia and others. KIND has approx. 50 employees and forms with other units BUP-FOU center at Torsplan, Gävlegatan 22, in a central location in Stockholm. Our vision is an inclusive society with equal living conditions for people with neurodevelopmental conditions and their families. Your mission

The work involves the development of ICF person factors that are informative for functional assessment and participation planning in autism and ADHD. It includes several studies to develop these factors, including systematic literature review, survey with professionals, qualitative studies with people with a diagnosis and relatives and studies in different environments (school, clinic, workplace). You will also work on linking ICF results and adapting the content to databases used for diagnostics and support planning. Read about our ICF research here. The position is for 3 years.

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a postdoctor is one who has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) date of employment. This must be substantiated by the applicant's main supervisor, director or equivalent. Your PhD is from an area that is of relevance for the postdoc position. It is an advantage if you have experience with ICF in practical work or research: we seek a person who has experience of different qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as of the field of autism and ADHD. Fluency in Swedish is an advantage, but not mandatory. Previous scientific production is meritorious. Eligible to apply for a postdoctoral position are those who have completed a doctoral degree or have equivalent scientific competence. Good skills in working with standard software and data analysis is required. You should have experience in meeting people with autism and adhd diagnoses and their relatives. As this project requires communication and interaction with several researchers abroad, a high level of proficiency in oral and written English is also necessary. We expect you to contribute actively and constructively to the development of the KIND Center as a whole, to share our vision and to show a good collaborative spirit. You are expected to be able to work both in a team and independently. We are looking for a motivated, responsible and hard-working person.
