The Ana Teixeira Lab at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet, is seeking talented and motivated postdoctoral researchers (1-2 positions) to join our team. Our research focuses on investigating the roles of spatial organization in biological processes. To achieve this, we develop DNA nanotechnology-based tools to map and manipulate membrane protein nanodomains (e.g. Spratt, Dias et al., Nature Nanotechnology, 2024; Ambrosetti et al., Nature Nanotechnology, 2021; Shaw, Lundin et al., Nature Methods, 2014.)
We aim to advance the development of nanomedicines through insights into the biophysical properties of the nanoenvironment surrounding target proteins. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work at the interface of nanotechnology, cell biology, and drug development in a creative and collaborative research environment.
We are seeking postdoctoral researchers to drive innovative projects at the intersection of spatial biology and nanomedicine. The candidate will either (1) develop novel methodologies to analyze the spatial organization of proteins within cell populations and single cells, using DNA sequencing or proteomics approaches as readouts, or (2) explore the role of multivalency in targeting membrane proteins, using animal models of disease to uncover new insights into therapeutic mechanisms.
Candidates with a background in biophysics, nanotechnology and related fields are encouraged to apply. Experience in DNA nanotechnology is considered a merit.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor, a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. Completion of your doctoral degree within the last three years is considered an advantage. If there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
