The Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) conducts research and education in neuroscience, from the molecular level to the societal level. The Neuroimmunology Unit integrates internationally recognized research and clinical activities at Karolinska University Hospital, driving studies of the immune cells at the root of neurologic diseases. Located at the Center for Molecular Medicine, the translational research we performed benefit for highly active environment, coupled with the use of innovative technologies applied on common chronic diseases and the excellent academic environment of the Karolinska Neuroimmunology & Multiple Sclerosis centre (KNIMS).
Our unit has made important discoveries regarding triggering factors and molecular mechanisms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), as well as pioneering the use of B-cell depleting therapies (BDCTs) as an effective treatment option. We are now looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join Professor Fredrik Piehl's research group with research focused on impact of BCDT in people with MS and its relation to Epstein-Barr virus. We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to develop our collaborative research on B cell immunology to further our knowledge in MS pathogenesis. The candidate will lead and coordinate projects involving single-cell transcriptomics and phenotypic characterization, as well as developing functional assays to decipher B cell functions using human samples. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with leading experts, access cutting-edge resources, and contribute to transformative discoveries that can shape the future of multiple sclerosis treatment.
