Our research group is dedicated to studying immune markers in the female genital mucosa and their role in susceptibility to sexually transmitted infections. We utilize advanced molecular biology techniques to examine mucosal samples. We are looking for two research assistants to work for three months during the summer of 2025.

Your mission

Perform experimental handling of mucosal samples, including immunohistochemistry staining, scanning and evaluation. Conduct computational analysis and illustration of data derived from these experiments, focusing on the quantification of phenotypic cell markers and mucosal structural markers.

Your profile

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

Required:

  • Knowledge and practical experience in using R for systems biology analysis.
  • Experience in preparing tables and figures for scientific publications.
  • Experience in immunohistochemistry staining, bioimaging analysis, and computational data processing from these assays.

Valued:

  • Additional experience in assessing human mucosal samples using methods such as dissection and tissue culture.

Location

The position is located within the Department of Medicine, Solna. The department consists of ten divisions and each division consists of several research groups. The position is located within the Division of Infectious Diseases in the Broliden research group.
