Career Service at Karolinska Institutet is looking for a coordinator who can contribute career support to doctoral students, post-doctorates and junior researchers. The career service function belongs to KI's External Engagement Office (EEO), a unit within the department for Research Support and External Relations (FER).

Your mission

We are looking for a dedicated colleague who can contribute to the team's various support programs and activities in close collaboration with other members of the team, other employees in the unit and within other parts of the university.
Your tasks will include:

  • responsibility to manage the KI Career Service internship programs, for PhD and postdoctoral researchers including creating good contacts with companies and other external organizations and matching candidates and projects.
  • responsibility for the entire process around career events, such as inviting speakers, publishing and marketing the events, communicating with participants and evaluating the events
  • present career service activities for doctoral students, post-docs and researchers in various contexts, e.g. at introduction days and on courses for researchers
  • support and answer questions from KI's PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and junior Faculty researchers regarding their professional career development within and outside academia

The position may involve travel.

Your profile

We are looking for someone with:

  • A doctoral degree within the Life-Science
  • Experience of running projects
  • Experience of working at a university and with good insight into doctoral education and research
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English. You should be able to both write your own texts and give presentations in English

Merits for the position include:

  • Experience of working with career development
  • Experience of web publishing and working with social media such as Wordpress, LinkedIn and Instagram.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written Swedish
