We are looking for a Research specialist to Professor Juha Kere´s research group at the department of Medicine, Huddinge. Energy metabolism is a central role in the early embryonal development. The research group is studying the first days of human embryonal development. We have developed a cell model that captures the 8-cell-like phenotype, resembling the embryonal cells 3 days after fertilization, and this allows us to study the early molecular events without harming human life.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary and multinational team. Your role will be to plan and design laboratory experiments, perform experimental work based on cell culturing and many modern molecular biology methods, interpret the results and contribute essentially to reporting of the conclusions.
This position is a 60 % permanent employment.
To be eligible for employment as a Research Specialist, in addition to holding a Degree of Doctor, PhD, or having a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a Swedish doctoral degree, the applicant must have demonstrated research expertise as well as have documented research experience after defending their doctoral dissertation.
The applicant must have a doctoral degree in molecular genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, or similar field and proven expertise in work with mitochondrial function and its role in metabolic regulation. Also a publication track record in the field of this call is necessary. Furthermore, high attention to detail as well as understanding of the overall scope of work are highly evaluated. The applicant needs to have good knowledge in scientific English. Experience in performing independent experimental work with modern molecular methods are meritorious, as well as the ability to work in a multidisciplinary research environment.
