Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We are seeking a Lecturer in Bacteriology who will conduct research in bacteriology and teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

MTC has around 400 affiliated staff members. Our key values are interdisciplinarity, clinically anchored basic research, and national and international collaboration.

Description of the subject area

The World Health Organization (WHO) classifies infectious diseases as one of the greatest global health threats. The field of bacteriology includes bacterial pathogenesis, virulence, and RNA-mediated regulation, and is highly relevant to global health.

Your mission

You will be responsible for education in bacterial diseases at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including in medical, biomedicine, and optometry programs. Your role also includes supervising master's students, PhD candidates, and postdoctoral researchers.

You will conduct research in medical microbiology, particularly on human bacterial pathogens and bacterial pathogenesis, including studies on the regulation of bacterial disease mechanisms and immune responses to these pathogens.
You are expected to actively apply for competitive research funding at local, national, and international levels.
