Decscription of the researchgroup
Our lab is advancing precision medicine through deep learning models of cancer cells. The models are trained on high-throughput datasets, including metabolomics, proteomics, and transcriptomics, and constrained to align with the molecular networks within cells. This allows us to identify systems-level mechanisms in cancer that can be used to uncover new biomarkers, drug targets, and paths to drug resistance. We are specifically interested in cancer-stroma interactions in pancreatic cancer. The long-term goal of our lab is to enable computer-aided design of precision cancer medicine. We are situated at the Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab) and this position is part of the Data Driven Life Science program (DDLS). The lab is led by assistant professor Avlant Nilsson, with background from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Chalmers Institute of Technology.
You will develop a deep learning model of the tumor microenvironment (TME) in pancreatic cancer to uncover self-sustaining ligand secretion patterns, which could become the target of novel therapies. In this role you will:
If you're ready to make an impact in the fight against cancer and contribute to groundbreaking research at the intersection of deep learning and cell biology, we encourage you to apply!
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a PhD or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish PhD is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
