- with focus on research
The Department of Clinical Neuroscience (CNS) conducts research and education in the field of neuroscience from the molecular level to the society level. The clinical research and education are conducted in collaboration with other research groups from the Karolinska Institutet (KI), with other universities as well as Region Stockholm.
The Centre for Psychiatry Research (CPF), a division within CNS, conducts high quality research into psychiatric disorders. CPF has 23 independent research groups that cover a number of fields, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, psychosis, personality disorders, substance use, and forensic psychiatry. We offer an engaging research environment where you will have the opportunity to contribute to high quality research at international top level.
The subject area is psychiatric science and treatment development, with a focus on the epidemiology and treatment of self-harm and suicide, and on exploring the significance of emotion regulation in treatment. The evaluation and development of evidence-based treatments in this field is based on the knowledge and experience of having developed and tested psychological interventions for self-harm and emotion regulation in different age groups in psychiatry. Psychiatric science research and teaching within KI and the Region Stockholm has been organized since 2007 within the framework of the joint organizational structure of CPF.
As Senior Lecturer in psychiatric science you will conduct research in this area across a broad variety of research methods and broad range of topics, from the study of etiological mechanisms to the development and testing of clinical psychosocial interventions, which can in turn be implemented for clinical use. You will also develop and lead training in this area in undergraduate education, for example in the medical program, the psychotherapy program and doctoral education.
You will conduct independent research and are expected to work closely with colleagues in the CPF Division and the Department, as well as national and international collaborators. You are expected to contribute significantly to a productive research environment, apply for funding, supervise students (both at master's and post graduate level), and participate in post graduate research education.
