We are looking for a driven post-doc for cervical cancer prevention research with a focus on mathematical modeling to optimize the elimination of disease-causing Human Papillomaviruses.

Your mission

The work concerns mathematical modeling for optimized HPV vaccination and HPV-based screening of cervical cancer. It also involves monitoring the presence of circulating HPV types and their distribution in HPV-associated diseases. The work mainly consists of statistical processing of large amounts of data, but laboratory work in virus serology, antibody analyses with serology-Luminex, are also included in the tasks. You will work integrally in a research group of about 20 people whose current main goal is the elimination of human papillomavirus. 

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a phd or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish phd is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.

You must have a PhD in the subject of infectious epidemiology. Documented education in infectious epidemiological modeling is a requirement, as is extensive scientific publication (at least 15 articles in the subject in scientific journals) and own research grants in the subject area.

Eligibility requirements:

  • You must have good knowledge of R, STATA and SAS. You should be comfortable handling large data sets and be able to perform biostatistical analyses.
  • You must have experience in laboratory work, in particular viral serology and handling of recombinant viruses.
  • You must have written and published original articles for scientifically reviewed international journals in the field (at least 15).
  • You are fluent in spoken and written English.
  • You must have experience in writing research grant applications that resulted in your own research grants.
