Senior Lab manager

Within the Center for Infectious Medicine (CIM), you get a unique opportunity to work closely together with researchers in an engaging and international research environment. Here you can contribute to high-quality research by being part of the unit's support Team for the researchers. CIM has 15 research groups and is located within Karolinska Institutet's newly established research facility, ANA Futura, which offers excellent infrastructure at the forefront of research.

Your mission

We are looking for a senior lab manager to join the support team at CIM. The support team has a critical function in ensuring that CIM is a well-functioning state-of-the art research facility by providing organisational, logistical and administrative support to our researchers. Key roles are to ensure that the unit is stocked and have well-organized functional laboratories, as well as that the unit operates in accordance with current working and safety regulations. Main tasks include ordering and managing deliveries of reagents and consumables to CIM, use of Karolinska Institutet´s chemical inventory (KLARA) and administrative (Agresso) systems.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has:

• A PhD in a relevant discipline such as biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology etc.
• Previous experience working in the laboratory setting.
• Previous experience working in a support team of a larger research unit
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, written and spoken.
• Previous experience working with the administrative systems, Labsuites, Agresso and KLARA. 

As a person, we would like you to be structured and have good communication skills. You enjoy working in a dynamic milieu, both independently and in a team. You are thorough in your work, the documentation, and the planning of it.

Emphasis will be on personal skills such as taking responsibility, flexibility, teamwork, problem solving; all in a service-oriented way.
