Within our research team, Global Child Health and the Sustainable Development Goals, you will find a multi-disciplinary group of researchers working to address the Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on ensuring children not only survive but thrive. We work globally, with collaborative partnerships with academics, clinicians and governments, to support both operational, observational and evaluation research. The Department of Global Public Health is a multidisciplinary department with the aim to advance knowledge about challenges and opportunities for public health in a local, national, and global setting. Research at the department is focused on how different societal and individual factors affect population health, and to develop and evaluate structural and individual-oriented interventions. Many researchers at the department are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision makers at regional, national, and international levels. The department has 12 research groups, about 110 PhD students and about 140 employees.
The successful candidate will be working on the YiPEE Project (Youth co-Production for sustainable Engagement and Empowerment in health) and expanding the profile of Global Mental Health research at the Department of Global Public Health. YiPEE is a multi-country, multi-partner project, with implementation and research in India, Kenya, South Africa and Sweden. The candidate will work within the YiPEE team and the research group Global Child Health and the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically contributing to quantitative data management and analysis, trial design and execution, intervention adaption within the Swedish context and developing grant applications in the field of mental health. The candidate will be expected to contribute scientifically to the wider consortium and lead publications.
The candidate is also expected to actively engage with the department and contribute, for example through doctoral supervision, attending and organizing seminar sessions, joining committees or taking on administrative roles, and teaching. The candidate will be encouraged and supported to submit their own grant applications, and transition to independence.
This is a full time position, temporary for 2 years.
Your profile
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a phd or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish phd is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
We are looking for a researcher with quantitative and qualitative research skills, with a background in adolescent health, or child or youth mental health. You must be self-motivated, have good collaboration skills, and skilled in cross-cultural communication. Furthermore, you must have experience in organizing or carrying out research projects independently, an ability to collaborate with colleagues within and beyond the research group and ability to be organized, responsible, efficient, and flexible in dealing with challenges.
