Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

The Department of Global Public Health is a multidisciplinary department with the aim to advance knowledge about challenges and opportunities for public health in a local, national, and global setting. Research at the department is focused on how different societal and individual factors affect population health, and to develop and evaluate structural and individual-oriented interventions. Many researchers at the department are scientific advisors to authorities and other decision makers at regional, national, and international levels. The department has 12 research groups, about 110 PhD students and about 140 employees.

In our research group you will find a unique opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment to jointly increase knowledge about the social etiology and consequences of injuries, in Sweden and globally. We conduct research on a variety of injury mechanisms and risk factors as well as various injury prevention strategies in healthcare and at the community level. With us, you will find yourself in a committed and international research environment where you will have an opportunity to contribute to high-quality research.

One of our ongoing projects is about intentional poisoning among children and adolescents and is based on national register data. The aim of the project is, among other things, to map the development of intentional poisonings over time for different substances and in comparison with other methods of intentional injuries. We will also study the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on these time trends.

The position is limited to 12 months with a scope of 40%.
