This position will be located at the KI Campus Solna in BioClinicum, in the group of Associate Professor Lars Tjernberg in collaboration with Professor Bengt Winblad. The ultimate goal of the research in this group is to understand the pathological pathways leading to Alzheimer disease and explore novel therapeutic concepts for Alzheimer disease.
This project focuses on the development of potential drugs that target amyloid and tau pathology for AD and other neurodegenerative diseases. We will use multiple methods to develop drug candidates, investigate their biological effects in different cell and mouse models, and validate them in proof-of-concept experiments.
This position involves the evaluation of biological effects of drug candidates. Specifically, the duties include cell culture (mouse embryonic primary neurons and human induced pluripotent stem cells), Western blot, co-immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence staining, fluorescence microscopy imaging, plasmid manufacturing, cell transfection, live cell Forster Resonance Energy Transfer imaging, drug delivery system development (such as nanoparticles), drug administration, and animal behaviour tests.
We are searching for 1 postdoc. The position is for temporary employment for two years.
