We at the Management Center (MMC) at LIME are seeking a lecturer in the field of medical leadership. The MMC conducts research on and education in health care management, leadership, implementation, organizational learning, innovation and entrepreneurship within LIME.

The employment will be at the PROCOME research group (PROCOME). The research group focuses on research on effects and implementation of innovative improvement programs in different type of organisations, with specific focus on health and social care. The research of PROCOME members aims to increase knowledge regarding the effects and implementation of different types of improvement programs.

Your mission

As a lecturer you will be involved in teaching medical leadership at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive courses that MMC offers. You will also lead the development of new executive courses in the field of Medical Management.

Your work will include:

  • Planning and execution of courses, including planning learning activities and organising guest speakers
  • Supervising and coaching students working on individual projects
  • Assessment and grading of assignments
  • Evaluation, reporting and archiving of courses
  • Educational programme evaluation and strategic development
  • Developing new executive courses at the executive level
  • Taking an active part in the MMC faculty
  • Participation in research-related tasks and future development of own research

Your profile

Qualified to be employed as a Lecturer is one who has demonstrated pedagogical proficiency and has obtained a doctorate or has equivalent scientific competence or any other professional skill that is important with regard to the subject content of the employment and the tasks that must be included in the employment.

Bases of assessment

Required qualifications (must be supported by documentation)

  • PhD in the field of Medical Management, with a focus on leadership
  • Experience of planning and teaching medical leadership and management at the undergraduate, graduate and executive level (in English and in Swedish)
  • Experience in supervision and coaching of students
  • Experience in developing courses for health care managers at the executive level
  • An interest in the research field of medical management
  • Experience in research-based evaluation of leadership programs for managers in healthcare
  • Experience in research projects related to leadership and/or medical management
  • Leadership experience
  • Proficiency in Swedish and English (both speaking and writing)

Meriting qualifications (must be supported by documentation)

  • A solid network within the health care sector

Personal skills

In connection with the appointment of Lecturers, we will accord special weight to teaching skills. Since this recruitment involves intense interaction with students and managers, your skills such as good communication skills, structure and ability to collaborate, but also the ability to run projects and work independently under time pressures and with, in some cases, limited instructions will be important

We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
