We are seeking a dedicated and motivated research assistant for the Division of Clinical Geriatrics and the Aging Research Center (ARC), where you will have the opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking studies and make a real difference!

Your mission

As a research assistant, you will participate in a project aimed at validating dementia diagnoses in the National Patient Register (NPR), the Cause of Death Register (CDR), and the Swedish Dementia Registry (SveDem). The project is part of the National e-Infrastructure for Aging Research in Sweden (NEAR), where the goal is to link data from population-based dementia diagnoses to SveDem.

As a research assistant, you will be employed at the Division of Clinical Geriatrics, and your work will be conducted at the division of Clinical Geriatrics and the Aging Research Center (ARC). Your work will be supervised by Dr. Debora Rizzuto, Prof. Maria Eriksdotter, and Dr. Hong Xu, with the task of contributing to the analysis of data from two comprehensive longitudinal population-based studies:

The Swedish national study on aging and care in Kungsholmen and Essingeöarna (SNAC-K) - an ongoing longitudinal population-based cohort study with more than 20 years of follow-up of individuals aged 60 and older. The Swedish Registry for Cognitive/Dementia Disorders (SveDem) – a national quality registry which has included incident diagnoses of dementia patients and their follow-ups in Sweden since 2007.

The tasks will include assisting with data cleaning, data harmonization, statistical analyses, results evaluation and contribution to the writing of articles.

The position is a temporary employment for 6 months, full time (100%).

Your profile

To be eligible for the position, you must have a degree in medicine or an equivalent degree that the employer deems comparable. We also expect you to have specific experience in statistics related to cognitive decline and dementia, data collection and analysis.

Strong knowledge of programming and statistical tools such as ‘R’ or ‘SPSS’ is essential.

It is advantageous if you have previous experience with longitudinal studies and work in geriatrics or neuroscience. Excellent proficiency in Swedish, both written and spoken, is a requirement.

As a person, you are meticulous, flexible, have good teamwork skills, and are accustomed to managing your work independently. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
