We are looking for a motivated research assistant at the Unit of Cardiovasulcar and Nutritional Epidemiology, Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM). The research focus at this unit is aimed at understanding the aetiology of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, cancer, and other chronic disorders by performing epidemiological research on the link between diet, lifestyle, and health.

Your mission

The successful candidate will support the research group in a variety of projects and is expected to create food databases of contaminants and additives in drinking water and food items, conduct biostatistical analyses, and perform data extraction for systematic reviews, among other tasks. The research assistant will also prepare PowerPoint presentations as well as posters, when needed.

The position refers to a fixed-term employment of approximately 9 months.

Your profile

  • We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a Master’s degree in nutrition, toxicology, or related field.
  • The candidate should have documented experience in conducting survival analyses using statistical programmes such as STATA and preferably within the area of nutritional epidemiology.
  • Experience with the SIMPLER (Swedish Infrastructure for Medical Population-based Life-course and Environmental Research) cohorts is advantageous.
  • We value commitment, enthusiasm and accuracy, and that you enjoy working in a group, but we also expect the candidate to be able to work independently.
  • Fluency in both oral and written English is necessary.
