Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

This position falls within the research group of Professor Weili Xu. The research group uses epidemiological methods to study how cardiovascular/metabolic disorders, organ function, and nutrition relate to cognitive aging, brain pathologies and dementia risk.

Your mission

Research in this postdoctor position centers on the relationship between cardiometabolic health (diabetes, heart disease, obesity, etc.) and dementia, with a focus on identifying modifiable factors that can improve cognitive and brain health in people with cardiometabolic diseases. Our research group uses a broad range of population-based longitudinal studies from Sweden, the US, and the UK which include data on medical conditions, cognitive function, brain MRI, lifestyle factors, and genetic/metabolic biomarkers, as well as their changes over time.

The main task in this postdoctor position is the production of scientific articles for publication – including study design, statistical analysis, and scientific writing. The applicant is also expected to supervise younger researchers at the master’s or PhD level, present research at conferences, and participate in writing grant applications.
