We are looking for a research assistant to join our international research group. The candidate will help in performing experiments already going on in the group and will handle the set up of a new research project.
The main duties of the successful candidate are:
- culture human brain organoids
- perform lab experiments with main methods drug optimization, cytotoxicity assays, immunostaining and confocal microscopy
- culture of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)
- help in data analyses
A successful candidate for this position should hold a master’s degree and have experience of the molecular and cell biology techniques described in the advertisement. Experience in culturing human brain organoids and toxicology knowledge is a requirement. In addition, knowledge of R programs is meritorious. The applicant will be evaluated on the basis of suitable bachelor and master's education, current study and previous research experience as well as personal suitability.

A position as research assistant is available in the research group led by Senior Researcher Kristiina Tammimies at the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. The Tammimies lab focuses on understanding genetic and biological factors associated with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) such as autism spectrum disorder and how this information can be integrated to guide clinical work.
The research group is part of the Center of Neurodevelopmental Disorders at Karolinska Institutet (KIND), www.ki.se/KIND. KIND is a competence center for research, development, and education in developmental psychopathology.
