Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We are recruiting a motivated research assistant to join the Lundin lab. The group is part of the Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM) at Department of Medicine, Huddinge. HERM is a nationally leading and internationally competitive research environment for studies of hematopoiesis, blood disorders and the human immune system with state-of-the art cell culture, molecular biology, flow cytometry, sequencing and microscopy facilities. As a research assistant you will support ongoing work led by senior scientists in the group.

Your mission

Our research uses patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to model and understand hematopoiesis, in development and disease. We are interested how specific DNA mutations lead to myeloid malignancies and aim to uncover unknown mechanisms that could be targeted therapeutically. A main interest of our lab is to exploit 3D culture systems, that emulate in vivo cellular niches and to develop more sophisticated in vitro disease models. In our group, you will be working in multidisciplinary setting, where collaborative efforts are highly encouraged.

Your profile

We are seeking an enthusiastic researcher who will provide support with extensive tissue culture work, including 3D culture, and molecular biology assays to dissect how intrinsic and extrinsic cues contribute to cell phenotypes. Completed or ongoing training in molecular biology, biochemistry or equivalent, as well as previous experience in a research environment are required. The applicant must have a strong interest in cell biology; prior hands-on experience with tissue culture and flow cytometry as well as knowledge in functional assays. The successful applicant should be fluent in written and spoken English.
