You will have the opportunity to participate in innovative research that investigates psychiatric patients' expectations of treatment outcomes, placebo responsivity, and variability in brain signals using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI). At Karolinska Institutet, you will have access to several unique laboratories and state-of-the-art brain imaging techniques: 7 Tesla MRI (Siemens Terra X), 3 Tesla MRI (Siemens Prisma), as well as a unique 128-sensor on-scalp MEG (Fieldline Inc Hedscan). The project has received funding from the Swedish Research Council and the Swedish Brain Foundation. The project is led by Kristoffer Månsson, Associate Professor.
As a postdoc you will be responsible for analysing brain imaging data and to conduct the statistical analyses to test hypotheses of interest. You will have access to previously collected cohorts, and you will be involved in the collection of completely new data. Your task will also be to write papers for scientific publishing, and you are expected to be first/corresponding author.
We want you to thrive, enjoy your time at work, and be able to continue developing a track-record for a successful future in academia. You will be part of the team to design novel experiments, independently process and analyze data obtained from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetoencephalography (MEG). In addition to active supervision, the project is currently also supported by a senior research engineer, a medical doctor, and research assistants. This project is interdisciplinary, and we are eager to include collaborative team players in our group.
We are looking for a highly motivated, driven, and enthusiastic person sharing our interest in inter-disciplinary research and is ready to explore new avenues in science. The candidates should have a collaborative approach to science, a high degree of independence, but also being able to effectively work in an inter-disciplinary team. We value a postdoc that contributes to a good social environment.
We also attach great importance to personal suitability.
To be eligible for employment as a postdoctor a doctoral degree or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a Swedish doctoral degree is required. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled at the latest at the time of the employment decision. It is considered as an advantage if you have completed your doctoral degree within the last three years, if there are special reasons, your degree may have been completed earlier.
