Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We are currently looking for an ambitious, highly motivated candidate with a solid background in molecular biology, electrophysiology, and neuropsychopharmacology to join the research group of Assistant Prof. Hugo Zeberg.

Your mission

The researcher will investigate a series of experimental G protein-coupled receptor ligands using electrophysiology methods. The overall goal is to increase the understanding of drug-receptor-interactions of clinically relevant ligands.

The project is focused on laboratory investigations of antipsychotic drugs and related ligands. For these purposes, the dopamine, serotonin, and muscarinic receptors will be used in the studies. In addition, genetic variants of these receptors, with relevance for clinical conditions and/or drug binding, will be studied.

The employment as Assistant Professor is time limited for 6 years with the right to apply for promotion to Senior Lecturer.

Eligibility requirements

Those eligible for employment as an Assistant Professor are individuals who have been awarded a PhD or attained equivalent research competence. Preference should be given to those who were awarded a PhD or attained equivalent research competence no more than five years prior to the expiry of the application period for the position as assistant professor.

Those who have been awarded a PhD or attained equivalent research competence earlier may however be considered if special grounds exist.

Special grounds refer to:

  • parental leave,

Ground, dates and extent must be clearly specified in the application and verified with relevant documentation.

We are looking for a candidate with a keen interest for neuropsychopharmacology, both from a clinical standpoint but also experimentally. The ideal candidate has theoretical and practical experience from the above mentioned techniques including X. laevis animal experimentation, two-electrode voltage-clamp, molecular biology and pharmacological assays. In addition, the applicant should have experience from working with structurally modified G protein-coupled receptors. Considering the clinical relevance of the research, a medical background is a strong advantage.
