Research Assistant in Imaging of Cancer Cell Plasticity

The Department of Laboratory Medicine consists of seven divisions and is active in many areas of Laboratory Medicine. The department is involved in advanced basic scientific, clinical and epidemiological research. The department is one of the largest departments of education at Karolinska Institutet and offers a strong, dynamic and international research environment with top-of-the-line equipment and facilities.

The Division of Pathology focus on subjects such as anatomy, histology, physiology, immunology and cell-and molecular biology to understand causes and mechanisms for development and progression of various disease conditions.

Currently, We are looking for a Research Assistant who will work in the group of Researcher Jonas Fuxe. The employment is fixed-term for 3 months (full time).

Your mission

The Fuxe group studies epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) as a link between inflammation and cancer metastasis. We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant who is interested in translational cancer research and would like to participate in developing the cell painting assay to study cancer cells undergoing EMT. 

Your profile

To be eligible for employment as a Research Assistant you must have a master’s degree in biomedical sciences and demonstrated good level of research experience in the actual research field.

It is meritorious to have experience in:

• Cancer research in the area of cell plasticity
• Cellular imaging techniques and microscopy
• Using the cell painting assay
