Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

We are looking for a highly driven Postdoctoral Researcher with an interest in increasing our understanding in the pathophysiology of metabolic diseases (i.e. MASLD, T2D, obesity) development.

Your mission

The broad goal of this project, long-term is to increase our understanding of the crosstalk between the endocrine pancreas and the liver in the context of metabolic disease. For this, a novel platform based on transplantations of organotypic cultures into the anterior chamber of the eye of recipient mice is to be used. The recruited postdoctoral fellow is to longitudinally study interactions between these two tissues using real-time in vivo microscopy in combination with other endpoints including immunohistochemistry and RNA sequencing. The project strives to generate mechanistic knowledge in the liver-islets crosstalk axis during disease development and to discover innovative therapeutic approaches against diabetes. The successful applicant will join and enhance ongoing efforts in this project.
