The Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics conducts research in epidemiology and biostatistics across a broad range of areas within biomedical science. The department is among the largest of its type in Europe and has especially strong research profiles in psychiatric, cancer, reproductive, pediatric, pharmaco, genetic, and geriatric epidemiology, eating disorders, precision medicine, and biostatistics.
Part of the success of our department is due to our collaborative spirit where one factor is that researchers at the Department share and co-finance common resources (e.g., IT and an applied biostatistics group). The research assistant will be part of a research group led by Assistant Professor Jiayao Lei (https://ki.se/en/people/jiayao-lei). The group's research focuses on epidemiological evaluation of cancer prevention programs, aiming to prevent diseases related to human papillomavirus (HPV) through comprehensive evaluation of HPV vaccination and screening programs. We offer a stimulating scientific environment and opportunities to collaborate with excellent researchers nationally and internationally.
The project will primarily use data from a linked database, which is based on the excellent Swedish registry infrastructure and contains information compiled from multiple population and healthcare registries. You will participate in the planning and execution of research studies, where you will perform data management, data analyses, and write manuscripts. The core activity of the project will be the production of research articles for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
This position is available on a flexible basis, allowing candidates to choose between half-time (50%) or full-time (100%) employment.
