Each year, over a million X-ray examinations are conducted in Stockholm. Thanks to recent advancements in artificial intelligence, data from these examinations can finally be utilized for population-based epidemiological research. Several such studies are underway at the Karolinska Institute, and now the Institute of environmental medicin are seeking a research assistant to contribute to these studies for a time limited period of around 8 months.
In your work, you will collaborate with researchers at the Karolinska Institute to develop and train machine learning algorithms for text categorization (Natural Language Processing) and image interpretation. Your primary task will be to create algorithms capable of interpreting data from radiological examinations and using this data to contribute to studies across a wide range of medical areas such as cancer, lung diseases, neurological dieaseas, and mental health.
We are looking for someone with a medical degree and specialized training in health informatics. You have good proficiency in both English and Swedish, programming skills in Python, and substantial practical experience in AI interpretation of medical data and the use of large language models.
Additional programming skills are advantageous, as well as a genuine interest in and previous experience with research.
