This position is located in lecturer Pauliina Damdimopoulou's research group at the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) within the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention, and Technology. Research and education within OBGYN cover various aspects of women's reproductive health, including ovarian biology, endometrial receptivity, fertility preservation measures, reproductive toxicology, stem cell biology, developmental biology, and fetal medicine. We provide a dynamic environment at the forefront of reproductive toxicological research, fostering innovation and exploration within the field.

Your mission

You will work within the Pandora project to contribute to the implementation of the project's final goals. Your tasks include conducting dose-response experiments in cell culture models and studying gene expression under the supervision of Damdimopoulou. Additional duties include compiling data for publications and presentations and participation in the common laboratory tasks of the group. In addition, you will collaborate with researchers in Sweden and internationally, participate in various project meetings, and handle administrative tasks such as orders and documentation.

Your profile

We are looking for an ambitious and knowledgeable researcher with documented experience in the following areas:

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate medical or biological subject 
  • Human reproductive biology with a focus on women
  • Cell culture
  • Assessment of the effects of environmental chemicals
  • Standard molecular biology methods like PCR, immunostaining and microscopy
  • Research administration

Additionally, experience in the following areas will be considered an advantage:

  • Human embryonic stem cell culture
  • Dose-response modelling
  • Handling of reprotoxic chemicals
  • Handling of clinical patient samples

Our research environment is international, and the project involves close collaboration with several other research groups and clinics. Therefore, fluency in English, both spoken and written, is a requirement, as are strong social skills. The project also requires meticulous documentation, and the ideal candidate must have a detailed, careful, and well-organized methodology.
